Public Safety Explorer Program

The New Orleans Police Department, New Orleans Fire Department and New Orleans Emergency Medical Services have combined our separate youth development programs into one value based youth development organization named the Public Safety Explorer Program. The Public Safety Explorers are not only taught the many duties of first responders, but also the necessary tools to be successful in any profession they choose. They learn the importance of cooperation and teamwork in achieving goals as well as accepting individual responsibility. They engage in program activities with emphasis in career opportunities, life skills, citizenship, character and leadership.
